Imogene Cunningham
Imogene Cunningham was born April 12,1883 in Portland, OR. and died June 24,1976 in San Francisco, CA. She had one son, Ronald Partridge, and her husband, Rio Partridge. Known for her fantastic flower photography, At the age of 18 Imogene purchased her first camera, a 4x5 inch view camera. She soon lost interest in the camera and sold it to a friend. Imogene put her camera career on hold for about 5 years, not knowing it was soon going to be the biggest success of her life. She began to study photography and graduated in 1907.between 1932 and 1925 she really began to study the Magnolia Flower, These pictures became her most famous, and are still carried out to this day, here are some of my favorite;

Paul Strand
In our next assignment we are going to be looking into the famous photographer, Paul Strand. Paul is known for his breath taking black and white photography. Paul had a long and productive career with is camera. Every single one of his photos are absolutely breath taking. In class we watched 2-6 parts of Paul Strand: Under the Dark Cloth part 1, Posted by Tom Johnson on you-tube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dP5YTqqoAqA&feature=player_embedded). During these films we really got to know who Paul stand was and what he aimed for in all his photos. Paul was a really big part in helping making photography an art form in the 20th century, he was solemnly focused on looking passed other photographers and trying to make photography serious in his life than ever before. One type of photography that Paul is know famously for doing is Straight Photography. In my next assignment i will be going out and taking 50 photographs in the style of Paul Strands Straight photography. While i look towards taking them with good contrast so that the black and white will really pop, and that the shapes and objects in my picture really stand out and have a meaning. I have noticed that shadowing, vertical lines, and composition is extremely important in all of Paul's photos, so i will make sure to include them in my pictures. For this assignment i wouldn't like to study any subject in particular i want to get a little of each, so i know the feel of Paul's artwork. I researched some of Paul's famous images and here are some i liked the most;

bad photos
Hey! our first assignment was the "Bad Photo" assignment. We had to go out and take purposely bad pictures to help understand that all pictures don't have to be in the right format to be beautiful, but also to show that you have to manipulate with the camera to get the exact picture you want. I went around my yard, and took about 30 photos, Wrong exposure, Wrong composition, Wrong white balance, All over blur, and subject blur. Here are my top favorites of each that i have formatted with Photoshop;
